Passn is a social network built around the people you cross paths with: discovery grounded in where you actually go, connection requests instead of an endless feed of strangers, moments shared with the people around you, communities that need no introduction, a real messenger behind every connection, and privacy controls that are part of the data model rather than a settings screen bolted on at the end.
Discovery that starts with real geography.
When you allow location access, Passn periodically records where you have been, but never precisely. Readings are indexed into hexagonal cells roughly 174 metres across to find candidates, and what gets stored for a crossing is the midpoint between you shifted by a random offset of 30 to 90 metres, never your own position. If another member's cells and yours line up in time and space, you become visible to each other as a crossing.
- Approximate area and approximate time, never a live position or a trail.
- Works in the background only if you grant it; foreground-only is fully supported.
- Crossing history is capped, and longer history is a paid extra rather than the default.
- Turn location off at any time in your phone's settings, the rest of the app keeps working.
Moments: what is happening around you.
Moments are short photo or text posts pinned to a place. Share one with the people nearby, with a community you belong to, or with everyone, and see what the people around you are up to, on the map and in the Moments feed.
- Nearby moments reach people within about 5 kilometres; the shared spot is shifted, never your exact position.
- Comments, report and block work exactly as they do everywhere else in the app.
- Delete a moment at any time; it disappears for everyone.
- Crossings and moments live on the same map, so a place you both know can start the conversation.
A badge that means a human was there.
Profile verification asks you to complete a short liveness check with the front camera. It confirms that a live person is present and that the face belongs to the person in your profile photos, then awards a badge other members can see. Verification is optional, and the check is used for that purpose alone.
- Liveness detection resists photos, screens and pre-recorded video.
- Used to grant the badge, not to build an advertising profile of you.
- You can use Passn without verifying; verified profiles simply carry more trust.
- Handled by a specialist processor under contract, described in the Privacy Policy.
Group rooms where nobody needs an introduction.
Communities are moderated topic rooms, coffee, running, film, new in town, that you can join and leave freely. They give the app a low-pressure surface: you can be part of a conversation without sending a single request, and leaving a room ends its access immediately, on the server.

A real messenger, opened by an accepted connection request.
Nobody can message you out of the blue. You send a connection request to someone you crossed paths with, they accept, and you both get a complete conversation surface, plus one-to-one calling on Plus+ for when typing stops being enough.
- Text, photos, voice notes and GIFs; photos and voice notes are a Plus feature.
- Audio and video calls are carried in real time through a calling provider; Passn records neither audio nor video, and stores no recordings.
- Report or block from inside the thread; blocking is enforced server-side in both directions.
- Delete your side of a conversation, or delete the account entirely.
Free is a real product. Paid is an upgrade, not a paywall.
Crossings, connection requests, messaging, moments and communities all work without paying. Passn Plus and Passn Plus+ add reach and control. Prices are set per country by the App Store or Google Play, you always see your local price before you confirm, and subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled.

Boost
Plus+ members get three Boosts a month. For 30 minutes a Boost triples your crossing radius, so more of the people around you show up as crossings. There are no separate one-off purchases; everything paid is part of the two subscriptions.
Billing you control
Subscriptions are managed in your App Store or Google Play account and can be cancelled at any time. Full terms, renewal timing and refund routing are in the subscription terms.

iPhone
The iPhone app is coming to the App Store soon. It is portrait-only, supports iOS system features such as Sign in with Apple, and ships with an in-app language switcher.
Languages
The interface ships in English and Turkish, with additional languages already prepared in the app’s string catalogue for later releases.
Android
The Android app is available on Google Play, with the same features, plans and safety tools as the iPhone app.
Passn LLC does not sell Passn through this website. All purchases happen inside the app through the App Store or Google Play in-app purchase systems.
